Jack Goldstein, The Jump, 1978, 16 mm film, color, silent, duration: 26:00 min.
Last year, the German art collector Thomas Borgmann gifted a major selection of contemporary artworks to the Stedelijk – the museum that, in his own words, shaped his artistic vision. The Stedelijk presents a large number of pieces from the donation in an exhibit occupying the entire first floor of the historic building. Borgmann’s gift includes works by Cosima von Bonin (Kenya, 1962), Isa Genzken (Germany, 1948), Michael Krebber (Germany, 1954), Lucy McKenzie (United Kingdom, 1977), Matt Mullican (United States, 1951), Paulina Olowska (Poland, 1976), Wolfgang Tillmans (Germany, 1968), Heimo Zobernig (Switzerland, 1958) and others, as well as the complete 16-millimeter film works of American artist Jack Goldstein (1945-2003).
